Sepi

Just finished watching Sepi the Movie directed by Kabir Bhatia. What a splendid movie. It is as good as his previous movie, Cinta. While in Cinta he focused mostly on finding true love, Sepi elaborates love from all perspective. Indeed, most of us will assume that this movie is a typical love story but after watching it, I feel so touched.

This movie is mainly divided into 3 subtopics which are accidentally involved in each other indirectly. Adam, Safi and Iman are the main characters. Adam played by Afdlin Shauki is a very funny but loser Chef. All his girlfriends ended up giving him their wedding cards until he has no option but to hook up with a crazy woman Suzie, played by Nasha Aziz. But all changed we he met with the beautiful Ilyana, played by Vanida Imran who was also engaged. Must tell you that Vanida looks lovely in this movie

The most tragic chapter in this movie must go to Sufi, played by Tony Eusoff. He was involved in an accident while in argument to delay the family vacation with his wife. While out on the road checking the person he just banged, a four-wheel from nowhere rammed his stalled car with his wife still inside. The car exploded and killed his wife instantly. Poor Rozita Che Wan, erm.. i wonder how much they paid her, for a just few seconds appearance. (nasib baik tak gedik… my wife said)

The last couple involves Iman, played by Baizura Kahar in which her childhood boyfriend was killed while trying to save a young boy from gang robbery. Few years after, she still can’t forget Khalil and still felt that Khalil was back from the grave…

Good job Kabir! Can’t wait to watch your next project! Don’t let me down, okay? Which I know you won’t…
